Another unsuccessful fantasy draft in the books last night, I look forward to hating all my players for the next three months :D

I have a 16 man, €100 a head draft Monday night. I drew the #16 slot. The turn in a 10 man is a thing of beauty, not so sure about 16 man. Pick's 10,11, 20, 21 are far better than 16, 17, 32, 33

Yeah that sucks, I was 11th in my 12-teamer, think I decided the sweet spot was 7 or 8.

16 and 17 in my league were Tyreek and Fournette, good luck!

I really don't want to pick either of them in that spot

Hopefully Aaron Jones falls that far. Or maybe Josh Allen. Even though I can't take him there with the 16 pick. HAVE to get take 2 RB's. And then Justin Tucker in the 4th

I got Josh Allen in the 4th, but only cos I *had* to as I didn't think any of him, Lamar, Mahomes or Kyler would be around when I next picked at the end of the 5th (and I was right!) and I had no plan B for QBs.

Your boys must go early for QBs if you're worried about it that early!

I think the Bucs and Bengals are going to disappoint this year. The Bucs O-Line isn't great. And I'd be worried about Burrow staying healthy. They'll be good, should make the play-offs but I don't see either in the NFC or AFC Championship game.

If the Bills have resolved there running back issues with James Cook they have a great chance. They got themselves in so much trouble not being able to grind the clock - that was before the 13 second meltdown against the Chiefs.

I think the 9ers will be contenders to win it all or go 7-10 and miss the play-offs. Best receiving core we've had in 8 years. It's now or never in terms of player peak for some of them.

The Chargers have gone the Rams route and built a win now team. Mack is a great addition but if they landed Wagner it would have suited them more. If the rumours of Stafford's arm injury are true I'm not sure the Rams will be in the NFC mix come the end.

In a strange turn of a events, a lot of the lesser teams have spent lots to improve but are somehow worse off. There's a clear bottom 11 (even though I think the Trubisky Steelers will surprise a few). The Browns make it 12 when Watson isn't playing even though it's hard to know what ability he retains after nearly 2 years without playing.

The Cowboys are so over rated it's not even funny.

In terms of bets I've done a Chargers highest scoring, Bears lowest scoring regular season double (parlay). Haven't bet it yet but the Vikings would be my outsider pick now that archaic Mike Zimmer is gone.

Of all the positions on both sides of the ball that you can have superstars in, a good O-Line to protect your main man and let him do his stuff is basically the game. I wouldn't like to see Joe Burrow get bashed up again so much as he's top draw.

Those playoff games were crazy last year, don't think we'll ever see the like again some of them. I gather they've changed the OT rules again but I haven't looked them up as my head already hurt from before :)

I agree about your 49'ers, if Shanahan gets the best out of Trey Lance then it could be a really, really good season and record. Same with the LA teams, could easily be the Superbowl or will niggly little things be their downfall?

I hope the Steelers do well, mainly because I still like Trubisky and think he got a raw deal with us. I really thought he could be our next franchise QB and was sad when he left unlike when Pace and Nagy left. I hope Watson doesn't play at all, it's staggering what I've read about him and how he views his behaviour! The Cowboys I think will have gotten rid of McCarthy before the end of the season.

Hope your bets come in, I've already written off the Bears season, I just hope Justin Fields isn't ruined like Trubisky was. The Vikings have a talented offense, I've seen predictions they'll dethrone the Packers but maybe not just yet.

Yep, gotta protect QB1 if your going to win it all. Even though the Bengals near managed it without doing it at all.

The Bears are in a bit of limbo. They don't seemed to have picked up enough decent draft choices in past few years and are probably still too good on defence to properly tank. I don't think they'll protect Fields enough which is why I think they won't score enough. Even if it has the makings of potentially good offence with Mooney, Kmet, Monty, Pringle and St. Brown. The latter 2 guys were behind top class QBs and rarely do players like that move and full their perceived potential.

I like Mike Tomlin as a coach. His players want to play for him rather than themselves and when it's not like that he has no issue cutting ties (AB, Bell etc.). He's also one of the few coaches that gets the most out of a player. Analysts are always saying "the Steelers have found another WR gem in the draft". They do but the common demoninator is Tomlin and his staff.

I'll be secretly rooting for the Lions because of Dan Campbell. Most guys that wear there hearts on their sleeve are generally clueless but he seems to have a fair bit of cleverness and knowledge about him. They might be a bit easy to play since their whole WR core is pretty much the same player type.

Should have made that Vikings bet. Without seeing Buccs (no real need to see Cowboys and Seahawks) the NFC is so far behind the better AFC teams.

Haha thanks, I think the somewhat soggy Soldier Field played the biggest part ☔

You should be ok and finish with a far better record than us, I like both our young dynamic quarterbacks for now and the next x amount of years if they don't get too bashed up.

On a bonus note, Rodgers and the Packers were awful :D

Chiefs edge out the Chargers to start week 2, I lasted until early in the 3rd quarter then fell asleep :)

Quite a bit of optimism that we can end our hoodoo against the Packers, we'll probably lose though. I swear if Rodgers does his "I own you" to the Bears fans... I'll turn the TV off rather than aiming my foot at his head.

I think the Bears will cover the spread (+10) but not win. They will be on a high but you'd imagine the Packers will improve 50% on the opening game.

I had the Chiefs to cover the spread, looked good until that 2 min drill. Saved them more time conceding that not :(

Our game against the Hawks is meant to be in more terrible conditions. That will suit them. Lance really needs a passing TD

It's a home game against a Seahawks team that are going to think they are better than are after luckboxing a win over the Broncos. I think you'll be fine is it's just picking the winner. If the weather is shit I can't see us beating them by 10 points.

Oh well, another defeat at Lambeau.

Fine margins and all that, shoulda coulda been 24-17 and a one score game but the officials can't call what they can't see thanks to Fields hiding the ball. Looked like he had a clear lane if he'd just had more composure and darted to the right. Ditto on the possession just before the 2 minute warning, he threw when could have carried on rushing, maybe his previous of throwing past the line of scrimmage was on his mind and he panicked then threw the pick. Overall, still optimistic that in parts we were at least competitive despite the final scoreline.

Hard luck on the Lance injury, watching it live looked pretty bad :( Bet the 49'ers are glad still had Jimmy G to step in unless he starts playing badly.

I'd love to call up my social media history for the past 7 months that involves defending Jimmy. He's borderline a top 16 QB. I get his upside/ceiling is non-existant or maxed but his win-loss ratio is 32-14. And most of those 14 came whilst playing injured which is his absolutely achilles (even a dead leg and his decision making falls apart). I hate the situation as to how he's starting but I'm glad he's back as QB1. With Lance on the field 12 rushes, 3 passes. Jimmy 10 rushes, 13 passes. The former is too easy too defend unless you have Saqoun, Henry and CMC as your RB rotation.

The Dolphins & Cardinals games were wild.

The Jets too coming back to win plus the big scrap in the Bucs and Saints game, looks like every weekend could be a wild one.

I like Jimmy G, anywhere else he would be the number 1 QB not the backup coming in. I wonder if they did have trade offers but none were suitable? It is a shame for Lance, I think his short college career with only 17 starts there hasn't helped.

Yes the Jets game was crazy too. Really happy for Robert Saleh. Seems like a genuine person.

The Bengals gave up 51 sacks last season. They are on pace for 111 this season :D

There's been plenty of very strong rumours that Mac Jones was Shanahan's choice not Lance. Even on draft night there's the same rumour that Shanahan assumed they were moving up for Jones. Lance's usage might add fuel to those rumours even before the injury. I get he's big, quick and strong but 17 carries for a QB in his first start. Similar in the other 3 games. At those rates he'd have been broken after 3 years anyhow. Apparently in camp his runs were good and his downfield/verticals were good. But his checkdowns/10-20 yard throws were abysmal. Given Jimmy was playing well before the play-offs in the Superbowl run, Shanahan basically said "I don't trust you" to Jimmy and we ran the ball like crazy against the Vikings. And haven't changed since.

Sucks for Lance, I was an interested onlooker for his first season as a starter! But as I said when Dak broke his ankle, it looks bad but it's so much 'better' than ACL or similar, so hopefully he can return the same guy, at least physically.

Been a very entertaining first couple of weeks around the league, RedZone is must-see programming.

Not sure which is the more surprising 2-0 - the Giants or my fantasy team!
