Cobra Kai - Season 5

< < < < < SPOILERS ALERT > > > > >

Well what can I say about this 5th season, it didnt fail with its intentions, and that was to keep any Karate Kid Franchise fan, on the edge of their seat. With how Season 4 ended, it was always gonna be a rollercoaster of a season, and to be honest, 10 Episodes just wasn't enough, considering they're about 35 Minutes long. We'll easily see a 6th season, and I'd say, that'll be it. More so for the following reasons:

The International tournament will assumingly take place. Silver won't go to Prison, thats a fact, a changed testimony and after all, he has money to buy freedom as such, the term "we ent gotta look over our shoulders" is a false statement, as you know thats not the conclusion. Miguel's Dad storyline - very rushed (2 episodes I think) was left open, and not really thought through for an ending, unless of course, this happens to be the case in the next season. Kenny's brother wasn't mentioned, and whilst the little man is getting big for his boots - who knows. Then of course, Kreese, and the faking of his own death in order to escape - not sure how he could be in the 6th, given hes now an escaped convict, but that being said, he'll want revenge on Silver, so at a guess, if he is, then he'll die for real. The love storys are all but complete, with the only one remaining, is, Chozen - who of course left his voice message to his woman of his dreams. Was good to see a nice guy in Mike Barnes, and would be good to see him again, although can't see it. Then of course, there is Kim-Da-Eun, who I've no doubt, will play a part - who knows

I loved it. I think also on Netflix there are another two seasons of the original Japanese show, possibly just called Midnight Dinner. Alice in borderlands is another good Japanese import, similar to Squid Game but weirder.

Rick and Morty is back!

Also, Lower decks has a few episodes.

I've watched one of each, don't get a lot of time these days but really glad they are there for when I do.

Did anyone in the UK watch the Traitors? There have been a few seasons in NL but I saw there had been an UK version. Is it populair? Personally I do think it's a great show! I have seen so many people go mental in this show, really show how distrust can hurt; even in a game.

Star Trek (1966-1969) - 7/10.
Ignoring all the inconsistencies and the overacting, it was pretty good fun watching this very old show which you can see was ahead of its time at the time. Some storylines were very similar and recycled somewhat but it was cool to see how it was developed.

Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973-1975) - 6/10.
The follow up to the end of the live action TV series where the main characters voiced their animated characters. They expanded on some of the storylines from the original series.

Moved onto watching the 6 movies that the original cast released after these. Will then be watching Star Trek: Next Generation!

Have seen the odd episode of Taskmaster and seen clips on YouTube etc. over the years but never intentionally sat down and watched it, so we've started it from the first series! We're up to the sixth now (think 16th is about to air) and thoroughly enjoying it, don't laugh out loud much at TV/films, but have done plenty with this.

Also finally getting to the end of Dawson's Creek  started it in like November 2020 or something, so I'm blaming having completed Netflix during lockdown for having started it, but here we are - three years later and I've got just one season to go. It left Netflix early last year sometime, which halted my progress, but it's on ITVX now so just sprinting to the finish line, basically hatewatching it at this point but I like completeness.

The Watcher - 2022 - Netflix Series <<< No Spoilers.. you're ok >>>

Re-watched this all with the wife this week. Its certainly a 'who is it' concept, and will keep you guessing, until the end. Only 7 episodes, and in fairness, Bobby Cannavale who played - Dean Brannock - was brilliant. Played his part as the dad of the family to a great standard, and bear in mind, this was based on true events, which for me, requires the main actor(s) to step it up, and he did so without a shadow of a doubt. Maybe felt it was rushed towards the end, and could've easily been stretched by another few shows. A lot of stuff unanswered for, which really bugs me.

TED LASSO Season 3...

Disappointing overall for me, the poorest of the 3 seasons. It goes (in order of quality) in simple 1, 2, 3 fashion for me.

Don't get me wrong it's still Ted Lasso and it is watchable in a mindless fluff kind of way but there are considerable issues with this third season that weren't present in the first in particular and to a lesser degree the second. Mainly meandering storylines, too many events happening off-screen and some odd character choices to name a few.

Not sure if this is a spoiler...it shouldn't be really it has been known in the press for a while that Sudeikis had a 3-year deal and wasn't doing anymore...but this is the final season also, so ratings...

Season 3 would get a lowly 4 or 5 out of 10 from me.

But Ted Lasso as a whole 3 season completed arc probably gets a safe 6 or 7, mainly dragged down towards 6 by this last third season.

Just watched the Demon 79 episode of Black Mirror. Incredible acting from Anjana Vasan and Paapa Essiedu with a B Movie premise elevated into a state of the nation concept. The guy from Nathan Barley turns up as a weird 1970s perv and looks to be having the time of his life with the part, although to be fair everyone involved seems to be having a great time being absolute horrors. Just watch Paapa’s face in the bedroom scene with Anjana and “Nathan”. Looking forward to watching the other new episodes although this one is supposed to be part of a different “Red Mirror” concept hence why it was horror rather than sci-fi

Also been watching a bit of Invisible on Netflix, which seems to be the Japanese version of a schlocky American series I watched way too many series of a few years ago called The Black List. The latter really hung on James Spader’s performances being the only watchable thing about it, and the Japanese one is the same so far with the titular crime lord (or in this case crime lady) Invisible running rings around all the incompetent police. I’m greatly enjoying Ko Shibasaki’s eyebrow work and fabulous outfits but my wife hates her and tells me she’s basically regarded as having the acting talent of Kristen Stewart in Japan.

Also need to watch season 2 of Alice in Borderlands although I’m thinking it can’t really live up to season 1, and looking forward to a second season of Korean high school zombie drama, All of us are Dead, dropping at some point

I smashed through the first four episodes then almost forgot I still had this one to go - watched it last night, really enjoyed it and agreed on the performances of the leads, they had a lot of heavy lifting to do in what is an almost feature-film length episode.
