Introduction: Ultimate Managers League

I've talked to Kaneman and I want to resurrect this league with a new format I'd like to pitch to you guys.

It will be a league run over multiple seasons and multiple databases, but you will pick and stick with one team and play with the original squad.

So let's say I pick Spurs and we start on ODB then first season I will manage ODB Spurs. Second season we move to the next database and I will manage the Spurs squad of that database. And so on and so on. We will move through a lot of databases until we reach the latest one.

Any team from the playable leagues can be picked, but you will be stuck with them. So it could be that your team is shite on ODB but becomes very good later on (ex. Chelsea, Man C, PSG).

In regards to tactics it will be the DTL format so only preset tactics with team instructions however all the presets are usable. This is to better suit your tactic to the players you have.

So no auctions, because you will play with the existing squads. There will be one haggling round in the winter where you can trade players with other managers.

Say I pick Barcelona, do I just play in La Liga or am I put in a division with the other managers like Red with Liverpool?

I will put all the teams in the Premier League so you will play against your fellow managers (max 16 of them) and the rest is filled up with AI teams.

There will be no European competitions though so only league, fa and league cup and charity shield.

I take it we're going from .60 to .68 but then to what? The first site update or will use the 05/06 update? What one was it Alan did again? 2004/5?

I have databases from 2004 and onwards with sometimes a gap of a few years. I will have a talk with Dermo to see if I can get my hands on some of the older databases that I'm missing.

Not sure if we do .68 or the Luessenhoff db since that one is a true masterpiece.

I was thinking Celtic, but that got nabbed, so I'll go in a completely different direction and choose PSV.

Just to make sure, only fixed squads, no chances of getting free agents either? As in players that are unattached in each DB.

Could be interested - how often do we have to post upcomming changes to line up, tactics and so on? doing CML already, so I gotta read a bit up on this to not take on too many leauges at the time.

Nope fixed squads only. With the holiday settings no players will be signed or sold. Any youth that comes through will be released or kept in reserves, because that will be too randomly generated for everyone.

Right now I want to run it weekly and simulate one month in game every week. Deadlines will be Sunday morning so I can run it Sunday during the day as it's my only day off.

Work week is Monday till Friday from 08.30 to 17.00 so pretty standard. Saturday is for groceries, cleaning, laundry and social stuff. Sunday is my relax day

Going to leave this open for the remainder of the week for people to join.

On Sunday I will load up the first save game so you can submit your first lineups. First month will be run next week Sunday.

It maybe best purging the whole UML section of anything to do with the old UML (including this) and then starting a new thread mate.

If people see this thread was started nearly 18 months ago they may not realise it's being completely revamped and restarted now.
