This will increase goals. If memory serves correctly, the default match engine will stop around 71% of attempts on goal going in (or something to that effect). I've lowered the percentage to 65% here, so you should see a lot more goals.

I'm using the old format Club World Cup (it starts in the summer, 3 groups, 12 clubs). Is it possible to move the start date of the tournament back a week?

I have installed all the patches that update the structure of the Italian league, yet the division into C1 and C2 remains. Is there no way to create the current structure?

Tried this, and for me it's just too many goals! :shock: What do I need to do to change it to 69?

Another question: If I want to remove an offset, do I simply delete the patch?

Another question: If I want to remove an offset, do I simply delete the patch?
Instead of 82, change it to 8A then apply it again. This will change it to 69%.

You can't just "delete" it out. If you want to go back to original settings, change 82 to 8E and apply.

Some games I play I notice that the same players move to the same clubs within the first season. Probably stops this.

A few notes/comments on the above...

The original intention of this patch was to attempt to stop transfers in the first half-season. Just to be absolutely clear it does not work in that way. However, when creating a new game, no shortlists are created, so only during gameplay will AI teams populate their shortlists. This will generally lead to fewer transfers being made in the opening 6 months and, significantly (as noted above) you will not necessarily see the same transfers over and again, such as Larsson to FC Bayern, Nesta to Barcelona etc in 3.9.68.

I like to use this patch purely for this last point; however, I have noticed that one "side effect" of applying this patch is that every contracted player in the database will have a squad status set to "Important First Team Player". As with the AI generating shortlists through gameplay, the squad statuses of players will gradually become updated to better reflect the players' true importance, and I don't feel it significantly impacts on player happiness when their status is demoted. Nevertheless, what it does mean is that it can be very expensive to buy players even if they are young and not getting first-team action - you will find you have to pay over the odds initially until the squad statuses are adjusted over the first handful of weeeks and months.

That’s a really nice side effect actually. Since the transfer window is supposed to be closed, the human player shouldn’t be buying players either, not taking advantage of the AI’s inability to bid

Yes, I agree it actually works out okay in the end, and on the whole it is a good patch to use.

I should add one further point - the "Importrant First Team Player" status only applies to AI-controlled teams. When you take over a club at the start of the game, your own players will have logical squad statruses, so you will not need to annoy half your squad by reducing their status.

Calling all CM specialists,

Has anyone ever looked into the reason why ex. Fulham, German and Brasilian clubs has the ability to exspand their stadium beyond limits? Can someone please look into it, the code or reason will appear right after game updating. It would really help if someone could crack this! Loads of savegames and clubs are suffering due to the so called "local council" blocking all stadium exspansions and most of the time without reason (finances). In todays world stadiums are exspanding vividly and our beloved game is not keeping up. The are so many super skilled people in this forum that has cracked and fixed several issues. Please someone look into this and see if you can come up with a "Block Local Council Blocking" Fix :)

I just really believe this would change the game to be more realistic and enjoyable for us fans. But I guess I must be wrong. Harold im sorry I ruined your day and mood. Please look past my stupid request. Unfortunetaly im not that technical that I can fix it myself. Ill return to my game and leave the forum.

Just a basic one, but I've just changed it on mine.

Date of the month at which the Polish league starts. PUSH 11 -> PUSH 15 brings it forward a few days so a game with Poland selected as the starting league should begin AFTER the big game update on 19th June.

I tried to have a look at this because I agree, there should be a lot more negotiation than just flat out rejection.

I pulled up a couple of offsets, one for bid accepted and one for bid rejected, and both of them jump (reject 008D6900 and accept 008D7AF0). However, the offset where a bid is negotiated doesn't jump and instead calls (0066F4E0) so maybe we need to be looking here. But the function is pretty big so might take a bit of work to decipher it.

EDIT: Upon further inspection, it's not 0066F4E0, as this is used for many things, not just transfers.

Is it possible to increase the number of fired managers from major clubs?
For a test, I changed the patience of all owners in the English league to 5, and in the Italian league to 1.
After 4 full seasons (original database) not a single manager from these clubs has been fired despite finishing in table positions such as:

Man Utd 5th
Liverpool 12th
Leeds 10th
Inter 5th, 6th, 5th
Juventus 6th
Milan 5th, 4th, 4th
Lazio 4th, 4th, 5th

In reality, most of these managers would have been fired. Can this be fixed?

I may have a look at this when I get some time. I totally agree sackings should be more frequent.

I’m sure there’s a bit of code surrounding Africa and Turkey as these countries actually have frequent sackings, so I may go hunting in that area.

Any tips regarding potential things to look for or specific offsets welcomed as always.

Hey guys,

I haven't created a league patch in many years, but I'm getting the itch again.

First things first.... because I'm lazy and don't want to search through hundreds of posts.... I will ask the smart folks here

I am using only the vanilla game with the 3.9.68 patch installed, and the October 2023 data update.

Can I change the number of teams in the Korean League Cup? I found an offset at 0066C77E (5) that corresponds to the number of teams in group A, but I cannot find a corresponding command for the number of teams in group B.

Any ideas from the smart people?

Oh, just as an FYI, I found the old "League Replacement Guide" I had copied from the old forums. Was a step-by-step guide to swapping one league for another and making changes (number of teams, rounds, promotions, relegations, subs, etc...) using Olly and a few of the other old tools.

Not sure if it's useful to anyone other than me (for when I still make league patches), as I see the offset work has improved significantly and the various patchers have become more prominent these days... but if anyone wants a copy, maybe I can get Mark to add it to the Tutorials subforum
