Other League Patches

I've been wondering for a few years now, how come before, I could find different league patches (very well made actually) for Eastern Leagues like Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, etc. and now, no one makes them anymore?
I for one am romanian and I was looking forward every year for the Romanian league patch. Played them a lot. But for the past 6-7 years I have yet to see them being done anymore.
I'd be willing to donate money to the site as well. I tried creating them myself in the past but i admit my league patching skills aren't the best.
I've been playing the game since 2003 and when I found this site I was really excited that someone actually took the time to create the additional leagues.
Could someone make "Eastern European Leagues great again"?

There was a lot of effort involved in making them, and they could only work with specified .exe and database version. So you'd be making new ones every time a new update was released. Guess they died out just because of that.

Given the amount of work it would take, I seriously doubt it would happen to be honest.

If the divisions you want are already in the database then it's possible, but equally you'd need to have enough players and staff in there for it to function properly. And they would have to be completely separate from the MLS as they would be replacing an entirely different league. So I doubt it is possible to do it in a way that you would desire.

I think American Second Division has enough information in the game. Has anyone ever been interested in playing in other American leagues? It is not possible that only I have this interest.

Well nobody has tried it so far. But like I said, it wouldn't be able to have any relationship to the MLS so I'm not sure how worthwhile it would be to just create it as a completely separate league. I've just done a quick check of the "American A League" in the original database. There are barely any staff, and on average about 20 players in each squad. However on the October 2021 database there are more staff and more players so it would be possible on that database, and also the April 2022 database as well I would imagine. Sounds like it would be possible if you wanted to have a go. It can be quite a complex process though, so not for the faint of heart!

I spent weeks (twice, adding Romania, Switzerland and Ukraine) adding 3 leagues and they still always crashed eventually and along with regens of that nation, you also got Scots, English, Welsh and Irish regens so it just felt stupid.

If you used the welsh league you also had a english/welsh tournament so that needed disabled and probably caused one of the fatal crashes, if you used Ireland rep & n, they have loads of cups that needed disabled as those 3 nations had like one cup and no super cups.

You need enough clubs, staff and players for it to function and even then no guarantee it would work, I ended up having to sack it on both occasions, very frustrated i had wasted so much time and energy. Swiss league has loads of big teams and would love it in 93 or other years but wasnn't to be

As Cam says, it takes a lot of work to do these league swaps and the results are always compromised. It is a case of the end result not justifying the effort. Remember that most on here are now 20 years older than when they first started playing and have many more commitments than they once did.

There are guides on here to do it yourself. It doesn’t take much special skill, just time and effort so if you want to play Romanian leagues, give it a go yourself

I had to give up on Ukraine too, but I've done Austria and Switzerland quite easily.

So would I follow the guide and do as usual then insert that as a misc patch via Nick’s patcher?

Save that code in a text file called "something.patch" and apply it using Nick's patcher yes. It just attacks the bit of code that loads the NI league and switches it to Switzerland. The Swiss leagues are already in the game so it should work with any 3.9.68 exe.

Hi guys, I've found on the forum the DB (March 2020, I guess) with Belarusian, Ukrainian and Austrian leagues (I'm not sure about the last one) included created by Footballer. Is it possible to "extract" the code of the Ukrainian and Belarusian leagues to such form that it would be applicable in the Nick's Patcher, just like @hodgy posted the code here? It would be great if possible to use it with the other databases

Austria/Switzerland is a different scenario to Belarus/Ukraine.

With Austria and Switzerland, the leagues are already in the database (but not loaded by the game) so it's just a case of changing the piece of code where it tells the game to load a particular league (ie. instead of loading Northern Ireland, load Switzerland instead). This approach can be done with a simple code file applied on any exe.

Belarus and Ukraine is much harder. The leagues aren't in the database so you have to completely modify an existing competition to make it work, which involves editing data files too (not just the .exe code) so mods for these types of leagues will only work on exactly the same database as it was created on. This approach is both very time consuming and needs to be re-done every time a new database is released, which is why they've only popped up once or twice on random databases.

Doesn't seem to work for me - game crashes upon loading up a new game. What database did you test it on? I tried it on ODB and 3.9.68. NIce work btw - having patch files like this would be a dream, and make it so simple for people to switch leagues. I might have a look at switching one myself if I have time in the coming weeks.

If you were to swap Switzerland with one of the Irelands on 93 i might pee myself with excitment.

Love the swiss league and so many top clubs. Although less than 1k worth of players and staff but would be cool project.

Same here with clean 68.
I suspect it's because the database has 12/12 in the Swiss Divisions, but as the patch replaces N.Ireland it probably requires 10/10.

Enjoying all the Swiss league interest, in hindsight, i would enjoy it on a clean .68 or preferrably the 3.60 db on .68 we have in downloads.

Austria is a cool one also, Sturm Graz!
