[RESOLVED] How to link or create reserve B team ?

Hi there,

With the help of xeno I managed to make some changes to my db + exe. I added a new team called Jong Ajax and linked it to Ajax. So now I have a A and B team in the Dutch league like there is Barcelona and Barcelona B.

When Ajax wasn't linked to Jong Ajax, it had Ajax Reserves. You can take over the controll ofAjax Reserves by using the option take controll of reserve team... With a "B" team, this option does not show.

I was wondering if it is possible to manage the B team too, without having to create a new manager or have to "unlink" A and B squad again.

you still need to change promotion/relegation rules do you? Or is it coded that a B team automatically stays 1 league below A team and get pushed down when A team drops down into same league?

I am not sure but you dont need to change any rule, game may control promotion-relegation for linked teams.

xeno's solution to B teams looks great although I couldn't make it. Would there be an easy way with patches or whatever to make B teams for all countries (solution for dummies)

I made the changes in .exe well, but I didn't get what I have to do with db, would you clarify , please?

Hi guys, I've made a game with an A team in the Dutch First Division and a B team in the Swedish Second Division, using the 3.9.68 database.

I used the following code in Nick's CM0102Patcher to make B teams possible everywhere: 0x140b00 0x74 0xeb

But now, despite my B team having finished first, it did not enter the promotion play-offs. The 2nd placed team got to go instead. I then tried to place a second team in Germany's Regionalliga and had the same problem, my promotion spot was given to the #3 in the league. When trying the Scottish Third Division I didn't have such a problem and my team promoted.

Is there a way to fix it so that a B team can promote from any league?

i wonder if there is a possibility to have a second team or a youth team for every club.

I play with Greuther Fürth(2. league Germany), which is really hard and this club has no second team like 1.fc Köln (2. league germany) or Bayern München.

Can i change something in Editor to get a youth team?

You can not control B teams. And I think you shall not.

ah, I think I have found the solution

but still some notes for others:
1) if the exe's size is changed, then the new exe will be 'not a valid win32 application' and hence cannot run
2) if the new team's name is longer than the replaced team's, the exe's size will be changed
3) so, it's better to keep the new team's name shorter than the replaced team's

It is already written in process/tutorial how to avoid this issue >>>
The team which you want to break the link has to have the same length name or a longer name than your new team long name which you are re-linking. You need to use space character to fill if your new club name is shorter than the club name you will replace by breaking the link.

I always make a second manager at some random club (I prefer one without a manager so I don't change the course of the game too much - but really it doesn't matter which club), then save and exit.

Open up CMExplorer and change the club for my second manager to the B team I want to manage. Save, exit and start CM.

Then I have 2 managers, one to manage the first team and one to manage the B team.

I made a B team for my Team (Leixões). But now the B team´s name appears "Afeganistan" and the name Portuguese National Teams changed to Puerto Rico....

Anyone knows what may be the problem here?

13. Remember to keep the underlines instead of spaces where needed.
14. If your primary & B teams names are shorter than VfB Leipzig's name, insert 00 instead of the extra letters in the left box (the one full of numbers). You will notice that every time you enter 00 , it creates a blank space on the side with text.

Normally, game prevents this happens ( A and B team in same league division) , need to check

IIRC this will only happen in Portugal, Spain and Germany. Every other nation there is potential for them to be in the same league. Maybe there is an offset to prevent it

you might have to go to the official editor, check all players in hoffenheim if they are placed on senior squad. check the reserves squad of hoffenheim and change them to senior squad too. all players in 1st team with status reserve team are "gone but not gone" and all players in reserve team with status reserve team the same. so players are either member of senoir squad of 1st team, or senior squad of B team.

Hi.

I've recently done some lengthy editing across the European leagues; Germany and Spain particularly.

I have added RB Leipzig and edited the likes of Nastic, Tenerife and Terrassa but now I am playing the game, some of the players have disappeared into the reserve teams which I then cannot access during the game to promote players to the first team.

It is probably important to add at this point that I think I created RB Leipzig as a new team rather than re-naming one, but it was that long ago, I can't be 100% certain.

Trawling through the forums lead me to one about a HEX editor which allows first teams and reserve teams to be "linked". Does anyone have any links to download the HEX editor in addition to idiot-technophobe-proof instructions about how to link first teams and reserve teams?

Is anyone able to help?

Check their playing squad status isn't set as Reserve Squad in the Editor (on the Contract tab). It's bugged in linked B teams

Thanks for the response. This was the first thing I looked at once I realised there was a problem. All playing staff have "senior squad" status.

I noticed that Nastic, for example, does not have a B/reserve team in the game either

Would renaming another team (with its associated B/U21/reserve team) be a possible solution?

Sorry for late reply, when completed i noticed the latest SI patch changed (at least) dutch league to the next season with transfers and promoted/relegated clubs, so started to edit that lol

also: when made a "B" team... make sure to have all players in main team set on first team. all those you want in B team add from b-team -> squad -> add. all players added should be set on first team too. otherwise you have some players lost in "reserves" a squad that don't excist no more

I'd like to do exactly the same: link Jong Ajax to the main Ajax team, so I can move players between Ajax, Ajax reserves and Jong Ajax teams (that'll be having an A, a B and a C team to work with). In my database (3.9.68 with last patches and updates) Jong Ajax exists but it seems to be a different separated club. I assume that I do not need to create any new youth team or rename any other youth team: the only thing I need is to link that existing Jong Ajax to the main Ajax team.

I've been reading the guide and the comments but I can't make myself clear: what I need to change in the HEX editor to achieve this as I don't have anything to rename (names are OK, I just want those existing teams to be linked together)?

On the other hand, I don't understand very well that last "also" step you mentioned to avoid players lost in reserves... can you explain better please?

Please excuse my ignorance but I'm having troubles understanding the guide. Thanks so much in advance for your help.

Some teams are linked. To find those, load the game with germany for example. You can find out easily which german team has got an u21 or reserve team linked to it. (Dutch teams have Main Squad and Reserves, some german ones have Main Squad and U21, B squad)

When you've found a club which you don't mind unlinking the A and B team, write it down. Then open club.dat and find that team and follow the tutuoral step according the leipzig example.

When you've got Ajax and Jong Ajax (Leipzig and Leipzig II e.g. from the tutorial) connected. You need to go to the original editor. You will see that you have got players in Ajax, and probably none in Jong Ajax. Go to the squad tap at Ajax. All players you want to be in Ajax Main.. give them SENIOR SQUAD. those you want in Jong Ajax. Change their squad from Ajax to Jong Ajax AND give them SENIOR SQUAD.

When you have two teams linked and players have status RESERVE SQUAD, they will not show up in your squadview in the game.
