Hi mate thanks for the reply.
Yeh iv done all this, an old hand when it comes to all the procedures. which is why im finding it odd it still hasnt loaded up

Iv tried twice since your reply and to no joy..

Anything im missing?
Assume you are running the game as administrator and have compatability enabled to XP 2 or 3?

If so and still an issue then best uninstalling and starting again

Manually delete the CM folder from Program Files are as it doesn't delete

Install game - check its ok

Install 3.9.68 patch - check its ok

Apply Oct 2023 update - check its ok

Add Nick patch if required - check its ok
hello chaps

On from my first post regarding not being able to move past loading a new season with this update, i am now using the nick patch v227
I have of course followed instructions for the October update - then the patch set up instructions
This is enabling me to set up a new season, however, this is using the original 3.9.68 version database..
Iv followed everything (allowed the year specific patch (nick patch) on the patcher options)

Again, if you can help me to see where im going wrong that would be brilliant.. thanks guys :)

It sounds like you didn't do this bit (highlighted in yellow below) then and just went straight to applying Nick's patch and then only realsing you still have old players? If so - repeat the steps again and check at each stage as suggested

It's an issue on the database update October 2023 , i tested it without using the nicks patch and still have the same issue :(
So Morocco never even enter the qualifying groups?
Never :(

Send me a PM and I'll walk you through it - you haven't copied the data folder over correct if still old squads

Says 2023 as you probably updated the year with Nicks patch

Many thanks, I believe I am running it as administrator (I have the shield next to the files)
I'm not sure how to check it is set as XP2 or 3?

Go to the little footie icon where you load the game - it's the CM0102 file and an .exe file

Usually held here

C/Program Files (x86)/Champiosnhip Manager 01/02

Right clik it - choose properties, choose compatability tab

Ensure run as admin checkbiox is checked and as mentioned compoatbaility against XP 2 or 3

Many thanks for your continued help on this,I have set this as run as administrator (it wasn't originally) & XP2 was shown albiet greyed out, I have tried it like this & also ticked the compatibilty box & changed it to xp3 but unfortunately neither work & it freezes on the initialising part, I have reinstalled the original game & it works fine it is just the updates that will not work. I am copying 3 cfg files over & replacing the original files but not joy so far?

Have you installed 3.9.68 patch before applying the update files?

Install game
3.9.68 Patch
Data Update

In that order. Try that

I have installed the patch & in the correct order. On the original download post I followed these instructions below ref the cfg files ( I am presuming the issue lies here somewhere as if I don't do this then the game loads fine in the 01/02 season) Many thanks for all your help.

1) Download the database by clicking its filename in this post beneath the video.
2) Once downloaded, click on the zip file and it will open in File Explorer.
3) Extract the contents to a preferred location on your device.
4) Open the folder and you will see a number of files such as euro.cfg, player_setup.cfg. Highlight all of these files and click 'Copy'.
5) Navigate to the 'Data' folder in your Championship Manager 2001/2002 directory. Usually located (unless you specified otherwise during the installation of the game) in 'This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Championship Manager 01-02 > 'Data'.
6) Inside the 'Data' folder, (without deleting anything from 'Data' folder), paste all the files that you copied in step 4.
7) You will be prompted to 'Replace or Skip Files'. Click 'Replace the files in the destination'.

Ensure you are running the game as administrator and have compatability enabled to XP 2 or 3?

If you do not know where to check then Go to the little footie icon where you load the game - it's the CM0102 file and an .exe file

Usually held here

C/Program Files (x86)/Champiosnhip Manager 01/02

Right click it - choose properties, choose compatability tab

Ensure run as admin checkbox is checked and as mentioned compatbaility against XP 2 or 3
