Hard crash at any time , the game closes without any error on the screen is the scenario i think but service pack 3 has only gained me two further days with the game

Dear all,

i have a crash in 19th oc October 2003 during the fifa announcement.

i have uploaded the cm01/02 exe and also the sav game.

please note that we are playing this game online (network game) and also we have the latest update of the game (2022 Oct).

as i said before it stops after the fifa announcements in 2003 October, but we have played more games more leagues but this never happened.

would you be so kind as to have a look at on it?

@fedor: Sadly I think that saved game might be a little corrupt to ever be stable again. As you can tell by when you load it and go to Competitions -> World Cup -> it just lists "First Division" over and over. Also even trying to just save the game again causes it to crash. Although I can get it past the current crash (which is just in the shortlists) it just crashes again later I'm afraid.

@ianowen6: Never seen anyone trying to play as 16 teams simultaneously....so you might be hitting oddities because of that. Anyway in the save you gave redknapp69 you were getting an unnecessary crash from the transfer manager. Applying this patch protects against it:

(save that to a text file and then apply it using my patcher - Tools -> Apply Patchfile.... etc)

Then your save shouldn't crash (at least not at that same point) - I will include this patch as a protection patch in future versions of the patcher to stop this crash from happening to others

i have done apply patchfile, do i then need to do save or apply? will i need to start gane from scratch or will existing game still work now?

I took Forfar over, as a challenge, when they were in bottom division (2008), and we have just won the premiership and uefa cup, and the game date now is 19/06/12.
When the game does its 2nd end of season 'update', i'm getting a black screen crash, and the game closes.
Any further attempts to progress, result in the same crash.
I'm using 3.9.68 with 6 European leagues foreground and all the rest in the background.
I'm using standard 01/02 players/data, and set up using nicks patcher with just a few of his tweaks eg colour attributes, show star players.
I have played many previous long saves with this installation, and never had a crash.
I did change Forfar to 'professional' status using XVI32 in 2009 (after 1st promotion), but no other changes.
At a bit of a loss to know why this is happening...any help would be gratefully received.

@ian: just applying is enough. No need to hit apply or save or anything after that. Now your saved game should just work. Try it.

Looking for help!

My game is crashing on 01.08.33. There's no error message, it just closes down immediately after the conclusion on a FIFA world club championship game. Had no issues like this before, the game is on version 3.9.68. I've tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling and still the same issues happens. Oddly, my saved game is still in the database when I reinstall the game without me having to copy it across so maybe I'm not uninstalling it correctly?

I have the following leagues selected as background leagues;
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Holland, Turkey

These leagues are selected ones;

England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain

I've tried deselecting those leagues to background ones but no change, game still crashes. Anyone able to suggest away around this? Tried going on holiday and quitting and same result, game will not get past 01.08.33.

Just thought I would share my success story with my save contstantly crashing on a certain date. I was using the original database (although using GK save editor) and my game crashed every time on the date 05/08/03, i tried changing compatability, running as administrator and taking a holiday with no luck. I realised the game crashed as a Scotland U21 international had taken place, so I requested to view this match which has ultimately bypassed the glitch and I can continue to enjoy my save!

Not sure if people are having similar problems but thought I would share my findings for anyone suffering the same frustration I was

I have a save, starting the 3rd season, and it always crashes on the morning of the 1st of July 2003. I tried a lot of the fixes I have seen around here and nothing works.

I think what's happened is Foggia is getting Salio Lassissi as a part exchange - but somehow he is not attached to a club (let go by Roma?) - that is breaking the game. Trying to come up with a fix for it. (you might be able to use a Saved Game Editor and give him a contract at Roma again - that might fix it - but I will look for a fix in the exe)

Hi Nick+Co, can it be related with below issues? And contract finish dates may be moved to a date after or just transfer window open date ?
95 BUG : players and staff whose contract expired are still not being released from their clubs or they dont leave and they remain there. Very annoying when a player or asistant manager or coach on a rolling contract sticks with his £0 per week
87 BUG : Under Approach To Buy during buying player and under Set Transfer Status for your own player , minimum offer/asking price can be 1K as there can be a bug if offer/asking price is set as 0 by dropdown or - button . Value of players which have rolling contract shall be checked after this modification.

Thank you so much! It was exactly that problem. I had to add myself as a manager for Roma to be able to cancel the transfer, but it worked. I can continue the game.
