Error Message when trying to open a save

Post by gargatouf »

Sorry of this has been asked before but I can't find it. I am trying to open a save and I get an error message asking me to insert the disk. I've been playing this save for a few days and suddenly I started getting this error message. What can I do.

Tried putting insert disc in search bar? - about 400 people probably asked same question :)

Basically - you need to re-mount the ISO if you are not playing with disc

I get the following message when trying to Run as Administrator:

"Unable to initiate the graphics in full screen mode - please ensure that DirectX has been installed correctly and that your graphics adaptor supports 800x600 pixel resolution in 16 bit colour."

Can anyone help? I have tried searching to see if this is a common issue.

Setup.exe

Post by profplug »

There is no Setup.exe in the file when I mount the game, only Setup, which has the same PC thumbnail as Setup.exe, when I run the Setup nothing happens? Is there anything more specific I need to do or maybe anything my system may be doing to stop it from working correctly? Thanks.

*** If problem on run autorun and setup, setup.exe problem , not work , does nothing:
Solution: Firstly , if you did not try yet, restart computer and try installation again. If still no response from installation;
1* Right click on SETUP.EXE, go to Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and choose Run this program in Windows XP (service pack 3) mode and tick 'Run as an admin'. Double click on setup.exe. You can try other compatibility modes , if Windows XP (service pack 3 ) does not work .
2* If nothing happens, open up the task manager by right clicking on the task bar and choosing Task Manager or by pressing "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" at the same time or by pressing "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" at the same time then you will see Task Manager.
3* Go to the Details tab on the task manager and sort by name. Find SETUP.EXE. If there are multiple ones running , then kill them all. Click on setup.exe in the list and press the delete key or the 'end task' button to kill the process.
4* Run setup.exe again . Check if it works. If not, go to next task.
5* Open task manager and check Details tab again. If still there are mutiple setup.exe, go to task-3 .
6* Right click on setup.exe in Details tab under Task manager and click Analyze Wait Chain option. This will tell you what is preventing the installation from running. Find that process and kill it.
- For Windows 7 , the Resource Monitor offers the ability to Analyze Wait Chain. Run 'resmon' to open the Resource Monitor. Identify the hung or suspended process, the Overview or CPU tab and right-click on it. In the context menu, you will see Analyze Wait Chain.
- For Windows 10/8 , it allows you to Analyze Wait Chain right from the Windows Task Manager itself, apart from the Resource Monitor. Open your Task Manager, check Details tab and identify the hung or frozen process. Right-click on it and select Analyze wait chain in the context menu.
- For Windows 11 , on the keyboard, press "Ctrl + Alt + Delete," you will see few options. To open Task Manager, select "Task Manager." Or to open Task Manager, right-click the Start button on the taskbar. Select "Task Manager" from the menu that appears, and Task Manager will be launched.
7* If still not solved, copy/extract all files in ISO to a folder in your computer and run setup.exe from this folder.

V3.9.68 lamglib,,cpp 479 & 131 Errors

Post by PaulMCFC »

Ive gone right through the Error code thread and tried everything. I deleted all my various CM 0102 game folders for various updates and wanted to start over again installing the original disk. I patched it to the .68 version and keep getting these error messages. I think it may have something to do with the path in the directory?? Any ideas?

v3.9.68 Langlib..cpp 479: Probably, you have installed previous versions of CM and/or uninstall&install the game CM0102 and/or databases several times. Or your Data folder name is not 'Data'. Or your Data folder is empty or has many missing necessary files.
Solution:
-Run your CM exe as admin and compatibility mode as Windows XP (Service Pack 3) .
-Check if your data folder name is 'Data' . Unless you specified otherwise during the installation of the game, it is like : 'This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Championship Manager 01-02> Data .
-Check if your Data folder is empty or if any missing necessary files in Data folder by comparing it with a working data or original 3.9.68 data. Probably you did not copy Data update files onto original 3.9.68 data files. Copy Data files again, check if it works.
-If not, right click on my computer (this PC) > properties > advanced system setings > environment variables > Find the variable relating to CM3 and delete it.
-Also, delete game.cfg file in your CM0102 folder (unless you specified otherwise during the installation of the game) in 'This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Championship Manager 01-02 ) . Check if it works.

Can it be SetupReg.exe ? Download it , extract and copy the file to the CM0102 installation folder and run it.

From Xeno's comment, this is the fix for your issue:

-If not, right click on my computer (this PC) > properties > advanced system settings > environment variables > Find the variable relating to CM3 and delete it.

That is what resolves the issue. Can you screenshot the list of environment variables?

think my old brain cant get this figured out unfortunately lol

Finally managed to figure out how to mount the ISO file in E Drive but now when i try and run my existing CM01/02 file with saved games it comes up with the following error - V3.9.68 index..cpp 5809 ??

Do i have to delete my old CM download and saved games and try to reinstall again??

Getting complicated for me lol

Mounting the CD has nothing to do with error messages. If you started the old saves on 3.9.60 then you can't play them after installing patch 3.9.68.
