Member of the Month - October 2023

At the beginning of each month, a new thread will appear where members can put forward their nominations for who they think have been an integral part of the community in the previous month. Who will you be nominating?

Please put forward ONE nomination and why you feel that particular member should be named 'Member of the Month'.

Nominations can be for a number of activities ranging from scouting for the update teams, writing a story, running competitions, releasing a popular download or even just helping to 'Keep the Game Alive' by being a regular poster.

After a few days, the nominations are then put to a vote to the community where the winner will receive unique status as 'Member of the Month'. It should go without saying that you cannot vote for yourself!

This is a tricky one, Ill throw a few nominations out there, not sure who I'll vote though

Mark - for the DTL, and ahead of game as hes already prepared next seasons auctions

Nick - Like any update, this guy follows it with a patch, which just get better and better

Every single member of the Update Team - These guys spend so much time preparing such a thing, that we all love, and I'd say, everyone loves 1 specific leagues update than the other, and I'm unsure who does which, I know Steve Harle does UK and others - but all these guys, or maybe a collective special nomination for them all could be an option

Redknapp or Derm - Can't recall which of these guys I was reading this about, they do the uploading and stuff of the update, I wanna say its the latter, but in the build up to an update, they're bombarded with the same old questions, and always do a great job to keep members in the loop, I feel what they do, gets shadowed by the update

I do feck all with anything to do with the update so that's very much with Derm (for the release messages/threads etc) - but as others have mentioned a wider (but not big) team alonsgide him for the entire update!

Update Team is the obvious choice and Nick was soooooooooooo quick with his pathc

And as Cam says - not just Davdav but some incredible contributions on his DB from others

I'll refrain from 1 single nimination at this time and indeed a tough vote!

I'll go with davdav too. It's refreshing to see someone new with such a fantastic -2 talent for programming. Especially when the likes of me can't find the time to do any patching at all (or to at least learn the basics!), it's great that davdav has come through the youth academy to shine in the first team. Hopefully once the 84 database is done, maybe he'll provide his services to help develop some generic patches to fix some longstanding issues with the game

Poll is up, just a two-horse race!

Always a difficult one after an update, as obviously the whole of the Update Team are worthy but I feel just handing it to 'Update Team' kind of trivialises(?) the individuals' efforts. But then if you're to nominate individuals the votes end up too thinly spread as has happened in the past... whereas the opposite has happened this time, presumably with people unsure which hero to nominate!

Basically, we love you Update Team don't let the flawed nomination process for a prizeless award get you down.
